“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”
“There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.”
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”
What you eat you become too, hahahahaha. Just kidding. To the serious part. At first, I don't believe in this quote. 'cause I'm always not confident about myself, not confident when I have to present something, not confident in my speech, but once you don't think anything at all you can do it. Just let those words you wanna say flows from your heart. Once you find out how to do that, things would become easier. The most important thing is, you have to believe that you can do it.
“Every human being is the author of his own health or disease.”
I think this quote is related to the quote I commented on above. Every human being have the control over yoru own health. Sometimes you can't control those virus and diseases you might get, but you can control your mind not to think about it negatively. Then that won't be a problem. If you believe you are well, you are well. And that's true. You don't have to believe me, but try it yourself. When you get sick, trick your own health. Trick your body into thinking that it's fine, then it'll be fine.
In some part of your life you may experience suffering, but I don't believe that Life as a whole is suffering. Just like happiness. There are sometimes in your life that you are happy and sometimes in your life that is sad. But if you suffer sometimes in your life, after that suffering you'll become stronger and you'll never return to the weaker version of you again.
“There has to be evil so that good can prove its purity above it.”
I believe this is true. There have to be evil for you to learn, but good for you to follow. If you don't know about evil, then how can you know what is good. Just like if you don't know sour, you don't know sweet.
Hahaha, I'm so used to this quote. My dad always says about this and I like this religion because it never force us to believe. What it does is show you some kind of truth, then what you have to do is analyze it yourself. Try doing it first, then if it works you can believe it.
